The psalm Shiur Hamalos speaks of 15 steps that lead up to the holy Beit Hamikdash (temple), the place in Jerusalem where all our prayers rise up to shamayim (the heavens). It is symbolic of the sacred house that each chattan (groom) and kallah (bride) will build for themselves. The text is the doorway, their commitment to each other. Two jeweled golden menorahs stand tall in each corner, while clusters of wedding roses form the border and on top the crown of Torah that glistens with diamonds and sapphires.
