Annieglass is handmade on California's central coast by a small group of highly skilled artisans and is noted for its beauty as well as its quality and strength. Every one-of-a-kind piece is proudly engraved with the studio signature.
Annieglass's trademark look and unique shape originates in a uniquely developed glass bending technique. A sheet of flat glass is melted over a ceramic mold and fired at such a high temperature (1350F) that precious metals (24-karot gold or genuine platinum) become permanently fused to the glass. The result differs from traditional hand blowing not only in its special translucent textured finish but also in its remarkable durability: the glass becomes tarnish and chip resistant – and dishwasher safe.
